Dear BRLT supporter,

As many of you know, Boothbay Region Land Trust is holding a sports and recreational equipment sale (Swap & Sale) following the Early Bird Sale on Sat, Nov. 22 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the YMCA.  However, to make this event a success and to raise money for BRLT, we need your help

Many of you are closing your cottages for the season or putting things away for the winter.

If any of your recreational and sports equipment - snowshoes, skates, skis, fishing rods, roof racks, golf clubs, kayaks and canoes, camping gear, tennis racquets, exercise equipment, diving masks - you name it - are in like-new condition and you would like to donate them to the sale, they would be gratefully accepted.  BRLT is also accepting equipment for consignment.

If you are closing your cottage for the winter, you may drop off your equipment anytime at the land trust office at 137 Townsend Ave.  If you are NOT leaving the area, “Swap Drop Sundays” are scheduled Oct. 19, Nov. 2, and Nov. 16 between 1 and 3 p.m. at the BRLT office.

Given the times and the need to be resourceful, gently used equipment may be just what is needed.  As youngsters grow, not just in size but in interests, they probably possess neglected items that might delight another child.

Your support is vital to the success of this venture, which we believe will benefit the entire area by recycling and reusing equipment for a healthy life style.

We regret that we can only accept items in lightly used or new condition, but hope that a reputation for quality will make this a highly anticipated annual event.  We also will be selling raffle tickets for a new Cross Country Ski package at the BRLT office and at the land trust booth during the Fall Foliage Festival.  Tickets are $1 each or $6 for five.  This ski package will be on display next week at the (new) BRLT office.

Remember, the newer the equipment, the better chance it will raise money to support the mission of Boothbay Region Land Trust.

swapSincerely,
Julie Lamy
